RBC Online Banking

RBC Online Banking recently introduced app-based authentication where users authorize connections via the RBC mobile app on a trusted device. The authorization is not maintained so each time Wealthica tries to connect to RBC to sync data, users who have enabled this 2FA option will receive a notification to allow connection.

Accounts will not auto sync if the connection is not authorized by the user in the app during the prescribed time limit. There is currently no option on RBC's platform that keeps the authorization maintained for devices. We invite users to provide feedback to RBC so they enable an option to trust authorized connections and maintain these without having to authorize each time. 

If you have app-based authentication enabled and missed the authentication notification for the sync from Wealthica, you will need to fix the connection. To do so, click on Fix It and enter credentials. You will see a window for app-based authentication, and receive a notification. Authorize the connection and type "YES" into the window. The connection should establish itself.
