How to Adjust Historic Fair Market Value of a Manual Asset

To adjust the historic fair market value of a manual asset, follow these steps:
  1. Navigate to the "Transactions" section;
  2. Click the "+ADD transaction" button just below the Rules section;
  3. Add a manual "mark-to-market" transaction for the asset;
  • Select the "Other Asset" tab;
  • Select the manual asset from the drop down menu that you want to add the historic fair market value for;
  • Select the date;
  • Select the transaction type "mark-to-market";
  • Enter the historic fair market value;
  • Add a description such as FMV Jan 1, 2019.
You can repeat these steps to enter the historic fair market value across periods. For example, a FMV for when you purchased it originally, an updated FMV in the past year, and another FMV for the start of the year. These FMVs will be reflected in your net worth graph on the main dashboard page.

To update the FMV periodically, you can simply go on the main dashboard page, click on the manual investment> "Edit" in the bar that appears> edit the Market Price> hit save. The system will automatically create the Mark-to-Market transaction on the date you edit the market price.
